Clinton man accused of attempted murder in Sullivan

Jail SULLIVAN  - A Clinton man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing in Sullivan Wednesday morning. Following the Indiana State Police investigation, Dustin Wheeler, 40, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail and charged with attempted murder, a Level 1 felony and aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony.  According to the report, emergency crews were dispatched to the residence at 110 West Graysville St. just before 11:30 a.m. The  stabbing victim had initially been transported to a local hospital  by a family member for treatment of injuries suffered in the incident. However,  the victim was later flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Indianapolis....

One hospitalized following hit-and-run crash on Springhill Drive

Clements, 31, of Terre Haute, was booked into the Vigo County Jail early Sunday morning and charged with operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated-endangerment. -- One person was sent to the hospital following a hit-and-run crash in Vigo County Saturday evening. Around 8:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene at Springhill Drive, just east of S. Seventh Street.  The driver of a maroon SUV suffered injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The vehicle sustained driver's side damage and airbags deployed. According to scanner traffic, a dark blue Dodge passenger car was observed leaving the scene. It was described as having a flat tire  and other damage consistent with the crash on the driver's side of the vehicle. The Vigo County Sheriff's Office investigation is underway at the time of this report; However, the suspect vehicle was located a short time later at a residence...

Police say Sullivan woman attacked victim with broken glass bottle

By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News  SULLIVAN COUNTY-  A Sullivan woman was arrested on a warrant late Thursday night after police say she recently stabbed and injured another person. Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said the suspect, Ashley L. Coffman, 37, allegedly used a broken glass bottle to attack the victim during a fight on July 5. She is charged with felony criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and battery. The stabbing victim was transported to a Terre Haute area hospital from Sullivan to be treated for injuries, after another person called 911.

Police say man was angry with son when he fired shots at his home

By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was taken into custody after police say he fired multiple shots into a relative's home and vehicle early Sunday morning. John Lyman Jr., 49, was booked into the Vigo County Jail a short time later. He is charged with charged with: burglary while armed with a deadly weapon; burglary of a dwelling; criminal recklessness; and intimidation using a deadly weapon. Terre Haute Police Department officers were dispatched to the residence located in the area of Blakely and Wabash Avenues on a call for shots fired, just before 6 a.m. The suspect reportedly had fled the scene prior to police arrival and was located later on.
