Clinton man accused of attempted murder in Sullivan

SULLIVAN  - A Clinton man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing in Sullivan Wednesday morning.

Following the Indiana State Police investigation, Dustin Wheeler, 40, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail and charged with attempted murder, a Level 1 felony and aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony. 

According to the report, emergency crews were dispatched to the residence at 110 West Graysville St. just before 11:30 a.m. The  stabbing victim had initially been transported to a local hospital  by a family member for treatment of injuries suffered in the incident. However,  the victim was later flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Indianapolis.  

Meanwhile,   ISP Sgt. Matt Ames explains that the suspect was still located inside the residence. After about an hour,  the suspect came out of the residence and turned himself over to the police without any further incident.
