" You are fucking up kid. advise you take my call otherwise shits going to get ugly."

According to the probable cause affidavit, filed by Detective J. Goldner, of the THPD, police were initially called to the residence, located at 12 Blakely Avenue, on a report of a break-in in progress. Dispatchers were then notified shots were being fired.

Upon arrival, officers discovered small caliber bullets around the rear of the property. The victim  reportedly told officers he, at first, believed he was hearing fireworks due to it being the Independence Day holiday weekend. He soon realized the sound was shots being fired.  His father was pounding hard at the back door and he recognized  the voice.

The suspect's son and his girlfriend observed Lyman leaving the scene in his black Mercedes passenger car. A neighbor noted to police that he had seen the suspect fire shots toward the parked car.
