One hospitalized following hit-and-run crash on Springhill Drive

UPDATE: Kylee R. Clements, 31, of Terre Haute, was booked into the Vigo County Jail early Sunday morning and charged with operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated-endangerment.

One person was sent to the hospital following a hit-and-run crash in Vigo County Saturday evening.


Around 8:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene at Springhill Drive, just east of S. Seventh Street. 


The driver of a maroon SUV suffered injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The vehicle sustained driver's side damage and airbags deployed.





According to scanner traffic, a dark blue Dodge passenger car was observed leaving the scene. It was described as having a flat tire  and other damage consistent with the crash on the driver's side of the vehicle.


The Vigo County Sheriff's Office investigation is underway at the time of this report; However, the suspect vehicle was located a short time later at a residence in the 2500 block of Putnam Street. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.



The West Terre Haute Police Department, the Terre Haute Police Department and Honey Creek Fire Department assisted the sheriff's office.
