Terre Haute man facing child pornography charges after police receive cyber tip

  Lucy Perry photo By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested for multiple counts of possession of child pornography after police searched his southside residence Tuesday. David E. Pasko Jr., 18, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 5 p.m. He is charged with:  Child exploitation, Level 4 felony Possession of child pornography (5 counts), Level 5 felony Pasko Jr.  The investigation began in June. Sgt. Matt Ames, of the Indiana State Police,  said investigators received a cyber tip from  the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC.)  Police then executed a search warrant at 1506 S. 10th St. and took the suspect into custody a short time later.

One dead after motorcycle crash in Terre Haute

 By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News Lucy Perry photo UPDATE 8/29/22- John Waggoner.22, of Terre Haute has been identified as the deceased crash victim . —— A crash involving a motorcycle claimed the life of one Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute. Around 3:40 p.m., emergency crews responded to the the crash at S. US 41 , near Old Royce Road.  The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital , where he died a short time later. His name has not been released at this time.  A dark - colored SUV sustained driver's side damage. No one in that vehicle was injured.  The Vigo County Sheriff's Office investigation is ongoing. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Federal inmate dies after medical emergency in Terre Haute

  Lucy Perry photo An inmate from the federal prison in Terre Haute died after a medical emergency Saturday evening. Jonathan Powers, 47, was transported to the hospital after staff noticed he was acting erratically, according to Federal Correctional Institution press release. CPR was initiated after Powers became unresponsive.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital. No other inmates were involved.  Powers had been held at the FCI since June, where he was serving a sentence for methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm.

3 dead , 2 hospitalized after single-vehicle crash in Riley

UPDATE from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, 8/22/22: The names of the victims in Sunday’s fatal crash on S.R. 46 are being released and are as follows-  Killed in the crash were: •18 -year -old Christian Eubanks,of Waukegan, Illl, •19 -year -old Jayden Musili, of Ft. Wayne, Ind. •19 -year -old Caleb VanHooser, of Liberty Township,  Ohio  Injured in the crash were: •20 -year- old Omarian Dixon, of Lafayette, Ind. •19 -year -old John Moore, of Wheaton, Ill. Speeding driver facing drug charges after traffic stop yields LSD and marijuana

Carlson/ Sullivan Co. Jail By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News SULLIVAN - A Terre Haute man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Sullivan Saturday afternoon. Jakob D. Carlson, 21, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail. He is charged with: Dealing a narcotic drug, Level 4, felony Dealing marijuana, Level 6, felony Possession of a narcotic drug, Level 6, felony Possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor ISP photo According to Sgt. Matt Ames, of the Indiana State Police, a trooper stopped the suspect's vehicle for speeding on Section Street, around 4:30 p.m.  He noticed suspicious activity while talking to the suspect.  In fact, during a subsequent search of the vehicle, police found 420 grams of marijuana, 71 LSD dosage squares and more than $2,000  in cash, Ames said.  

Shooting investigation underway at TH apartment complex

By Lucy Perry  Indiana Central News  A shooting investigation is underway at a Terre Haute apartment complex. Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse confirms  three people were transported to the hospital for gunshot wounds suffered in the incident late Sunday night. One victim is in serious condition. According to scanner traffic , the suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.  Around 10:45 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the Willow Crossings apartments, formerly known  as Garden Quarter, near S. US 41 and Jessica Drive.  The reported shooting occurred on Sweetwater Court in the complex.

Mills died the afternoon of 08-24-2022. DNA testing is underway for identification of the deceased driver in this vehicle accident. ------ By Lucy Perry  Indiana Central News One person is dead and another is in serious condition following a single-vehicle crash in northern Vigo County Friday afternoon.
