Speeding driver facing drug charges after traffic stop yields LSD and marijuana

SULLIVAN - A Terre Haute man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Sullivan Saturday afternoon.


Jakob D. Carlson, 21, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail. He is charged with:

  • Dealing a narcotic drug, Level 4, felony
  • Dealing marijuana, Level 6, felony
  • Possession of a narcotic drug, Level 6, felony
  • Possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor

According to Sgt. Matt Ames, of the Indiana State Police, a trooper stopped the suspect's vehicle for speeding on Section Street, around 4:30 p.m. 

He noticed suspicious activity while talking to the suspect. In fact, during a subsequent search of the vehicle, police found 420 grams of marijuana, 71 LSD dosage squares and more than $2,000  in cash, Ames said.
