Wanted man allegedly threatened to shoot as officers arrived at northside residence

A Terre Haute man was arrested following a standoff on the city's north side after police were alerted to the wanted suspect's whereabouts Wednesday morning.

Marvin L. Eacret, 30, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 7:30 a.m. He is charged with intimidation, resisting law enforcement and had arrest warrants for three counts of invasion of privacy, criminal confinement and domestic battery.

According to the Terre Haute Police Department, officers arrived on scene in the1600 block of N. 14th Street and were initially given permission to enter the house.

The suspect became hostile at that time ---- reportedly shouting that "anyone entering the house would be shot."

The Special Response Team responded to the scene. Eacret was taken into custody a short time later.
