A Terre Haute Police Department officer has resigned following a guilty plea in city court Tuesday morning.

Trevor W. Singer, 25, was sentenced to 420 days of formal probation for two counts of battery and one public nudity misdemeanor offenses filed in July.

Singer, whom was off-duty at the time of the allegations, was immediately placed on leave. He was a partolman with the department for less than two years at the time of the charges.

According to the probable cause affidavit, filed by Det. Ryan Winters, of the Indiana State Police, Singer had allegedly grabbed and groped two women at separate times that night, forcefully kissing them on the mouth and exposing his genitals.

The first incident happened outside the Copper Bar on Wabash Avenue and the other occurred outside the Poplar Pub located at Meadows Shopping Center.
